Privacy Policy · QR8
Last Updated: 2026/10/11
1. Introduction
QR8 is provided by Tunahan Aktay (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains how the app handles information. You do not need an account to use the app. The app shows no advertising and does not upload your content for AI processing.
Tunahan Aktay is the controller responsible for the processing described here. Contact: tunahanaktay.apps@gmail.com. Using the app is not itself consent to every practice described in this policy.
2. Information the App Processes
Identifiers and usage
Firebase Analytics uses app identifiers and processes app interactions, device and app information, and approximate location derived from IP addresses. We use this information to understand usage and improve the app. The app does not request precise device location. A location you choose to put into a QR code is part of that code’s content, described below.
We do not link analytics identifiers to a name, email address or account you create with us. Records associated with an identifier are not necessarily anonymous.
Purchases
Apple and RevenueCat process purchase history and identifiers to provide subscriptions, restore purchases and help us understand purchasing trends. RevenueCat also receives Apple’s install attribution token to identify installs from Apple Search Ads campaigns. We do not receive your payment card details.
Diagnostics and configuration
Firebase Crashlytics processes crash reports, technical device information and installation identifiers to help us fix failures. Firebase Remote Config uses installation identifiers to deliver app settings. Service requests also involve network information, such as IP addresses.
Support
If you contact us, we receive the email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. A support email prepared by the app includes app and device details to help us investigate your request. Review these details before sending.
3. Camera, Photos and Documents
QR8 uses the camera to scan QR codes, barcodes, text and paper pages with Apple’s on-device scanning tools. Photos you select for a code’s centre mark or background, or for a business card, are composed locally. Document scans are stored as page images, and PDF export also happens on your device.
The system photo picker lets you choose particular photos for a code or card. Saving a new image to Photos uses add-only permission; that permission does not grant access to the rest of your library.
The app does not send camera frames, code content, recognized text, selected photos or scanned pages to us for recognition or generation. Its scanning and rendering use on-device tools. Subscription checks, purchases, configuration and analytics use network services, so this is not a promise that every app feature works without a connection.
4. Information You Put in Codes and Cards
Codes and cards can contain a link, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, an event, a location or other information you choose. The app encodes or draws this information on your device. We do not maintain a server library of your codes, cards or documents.
A code or card carries its content by design. People who receive or scan it can read that content. Review it before saving, printing or sharing, particularly when it includes contact details or a Wi-Fi password.
If you open a scanned link, make a call, send a message, join a network or share a file, the selected service or recipient handles that action under its own terms and privacy practices. Photos saved to your library and local app files may be included in syncing or device backups under your Apple settings.
5. Face Data and Health Data
The app does not perform facial recognition or create biometric identifiers. A portrait used on a business card is treated as an ordinary picture. It may identify the person shown and is included in any card you export or share. The app does not access Apple Health.
6. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase Analytics: App usage analytics.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reporting and diagnostics.
- Google Firebase Remote Config: App configuration delivery.
- RevenueCat: Subscription entitlements, purchase analytics and Apple’s install attribution token.
- Apple: App Store payments and install attribution, plus system services you choose to use, such as Photos, sharing and device backups.
See Firebase’s privacy information, Google’s Privacy Policy, RevenueCat’s app privacy information, and Apple’s Privacy Policy. The app does not use Mixpanel or an advertising service.
7. Local Storage and Deletion
The app stores saved codes and business cards as images with a local index. It stores scanned document pages, document names, folders and notes in its own device storage. Preferences, such as sorting and onboarding status, are also stored locally.
You can delete saved items in the app. Deleting the app removes its local app data. This does not delete files already exported to Files or Photos, shared copies, device backups, or records held by analytics and purchase providers. Manage those copies through their respective services.
8. Purposes, Retention and Security
We process content locally to provide the tools you choose and purchase information to provide your subscription. Where permitted by applicable law, we rely on legitimate interests for app reliability, analytics, configuration and responding to support. Where consent is legally required for particular processing, consent is the applicable basis.
Local items remain until you delete them or remove the app’s local data. Providers retain analytics, configuration, diagnostic and purchase records according to their applicable settings, policies and legal obligations. We retain support correspondence as needed to handle the request and meet applicable obligations. Deleting a local item does not delete those provider records.
Network services use encrypted connections. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system can guarantee complete security.
9. Children’s Privacy
QR8 is not directed at children under 4. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has supplied personal information inappropriately, contact tunahanaktay.apps@gmail.com so we can investigate and help with deletion.
10. International Processing and Your Rights
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Applicable data-protection requirements may require safeguards for these transfers. Contact us for information relevant to your request.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or portability of your personal data, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, and complain to a data protection authority. Contact tunahanaktay.apps@gmail.com. Because we do not link analytics identifiers to your name or email, identifying your records may require further information. We will help as far as we can. We do not sell your personal information.
You can manage camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings, manage local items in the app, and manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings. Withdrawal of consent does not undo processing already performed.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The updated version will appear on this page with a revised Last Updated date. We will announce significant changes on this page or in the app before they take effect.
